Ad Clicks: The number of clicks on an ad
within a defined period of time.
Ad Views:
The number of times an ad is displayed. (The number of server requests for the ad.)
Click-Through:
A click-through is when a visitor clicks on an ad.
Conversion Rate:
The rate by which a customer clicks on an ad and continues to make a purchase or complete a registration at the
advertiser's site.
CPA (Cost Per Action): The cost to the advertiser per "action" like a completed
sale.
CPC (Cost Per Click): The cost to the advertiser per visitor click on an ad.
CPM (Cost Per Thousand): The cost to the advertiser per impression on a site.
CTR (Click-Through Rate): The percentage number of click-throughs per ad views.
Exposures:
The amount of times a viewer sees an advertiser's ad.
Filter:
A program that delivers content to a user that corresponds to their individual preferences.
General Rotation:
Method of displaying banners on a site in random order.
Hit:
When a browser downloads a file into the web browser. Hits count for each item on the page, so each graphic and
the HTML file have hits accounted to them.
Impression (Page View): An aggregate total hits per a web page.
Impression Totals:
The total number of times a banner appears on a web page. i.e. if a page has the same banner on the top and bottom
of the page, the impression total is 2.
Run Of Site Advertising: Displaying banners on the entire site.
Traffic:
The amount of impressions, hits, and visits a site receives.
Unique Users:
The number of distinct individuals to hit a site. (different IP addresses)
Visitor-To-Sales Ratio: The amount of users who have visited the site divide by the number
of sales on the web site.
